Six am, also known as day break. When the sun finally starting to really shine down on the school, known as Fox Glove. Was the time blaring at Sarah in bright red letters. She looked at it and groaned. Her alarm hadn't gone off but she still smacked it. Years of her mother dragging her to church and she still couldn't sleep in on sundays. Sarah sighed, she was lucky enough to have a single room, so she didn't have a roommate to bother while she got dressed and left her dorm room.
She knew where she was going before she even thought about it. She went there naturally now. It was where she spent nearly every waking moment. The lake. Once Sarah was there, she stood on the shore line looking out at the lake. Her feet after she'd slipped off her shoes where being touched by the icy waves. Sarah looked at the water at her feet, trying to make it stand still. Of course it wouldn't, that was why she was here. To learn control, she would control her power she thought. Staring at the water, she seemed to loose all noticing of what was going on around her.

Cal had spent the night in the lake. It reminded him of home…and he sleep walked here in the middle of the night anyway. He woke to water and sand. To his natural form of power and grace. He shivered, moving the sand from his body that had accumulated with the night tide. He Changed to make sure he had on clothes and turned out to have only his torn jean from the night before. He Changed back, swimming through the coral. Feeling the shore close he split his tail again and walked on two legs, out of the water and into the sunlight.
He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, looking around the beach before resting his eyes on the tantalizing young lass on the shore line a few hundred feet away. He moved slowly, eyeing her u and down. His mind was in two places, thinking two different things, on one hand she could make tantalizing prey and on the other she could be very fun to tease. He felt her trying to move the water and got an idea, he formed a floating ball of water and using nothing but his mind, threw it at her shouting only, “Think fast chica!”

Sarah looked at the water that belonged to the lake. She was thinking about things she could try and make it do. She could do a whirlpool, she mentally shook her head no about that. She was to afraid to do that. After the last time, when she'd been on the beach. Even if everyone in the world told her it wasn't her fault she wouldn't believe them. She'd created the whirlpool and she hadn't been able to control it. That was what this was all about after all, it was all about control. Trying to figure out what all she could do and trying to control it once she'd done it.
She looked down at her pale feet, that where in the water. Her ankles where repeatedly splashed by the water she couldn't control. She was growing increasingly frustrated with this fact. She stepped in a little bit more, the water was now up to her calfs and she was about a yard into the water. When she heard the call. She looked up just in time to see the water ball. She didn't have time to even think about trying to control it. Instead she put a hand in front of her face and fell back from the impact of it. On impact with her hand the ball splashed. Water went threw her fingers and fell. Some of it turned to ice though, which melted when it hit the water. The impact had shocked her enough, that she fell back in the water. Landing on her butt, the water came up and splashed around her. Showing just how lacking she was with her powers as well as getting her soaked.

Caligan roared in laughter, seeing the cute girl falter with her powers. He could tell she was trying really hard so he took pity in her. He focused on the spot she was seated at and forced all the ambient water away from her body, leaving nothing but sand within five feet of her. He studied her as he walked up to her casually. Giving her the once over, she was pretty, he thought. Very pretty, in fact. It was her eyes that captivated him though. And it seemed that she was an elemental like him so that was points in his book.
He finally reached her and held out his hand to her, saying only “Need a hand?”

Sarah looked up to see who had thrown a water ball at her. First because it'd been unexpected and second because it was obvious that they where someone who also controlled water. She blushed when her eyes came in contact with the boy who she assumed had thrown the ball. He was laughing at her, and this only seemed to help the blush on her cheeks grow darker. She looked down at the water that had been surrounding her. She nearly had tears in her eyes, she just couldn't get this thing with water right and it bothered her so much! The water around her started to disappear, and she knew it must have been him doing it.
Sarah looked at his hand for a minute. As if it was about to bite her, then she took it after a minute. "Thanks," she said in a small voice as she looked down at her feet while she got into a standing position. She could feel the water on both of them normally she liked being wet and in water. Right now she wasn't enjoying it though. "I take it your a water person." she said not looking at him, "Ya know it's not nice to throw things at people." she said. Like she expected him to be listening, but really she didn't. Inside she was just hurt that she hadn't been able to get the ball. Once upon a time she'd been better with her powers, she'd had some control. Since the accident though she had no control.

“Well I know that but that’s how I trained myself, and my sister for that matter. Plus it makes for a mean water fight.” He smiled at her. He loved doing that to his sister back on the boat and it only made it funnier because this girl couldn’t retaliate. He decided to do her one solid and pulled all the excess water off of her clothes. Once he was sure she was dry he dried himself off a little.
He remembered how he had felt her trying to move the water, and decided that he needed to apologize. He walked out a into the water, and stuck his finger in. He drew once small circle in the water and pushed the circle into the middle of the lake. from that simple circle a giant whirlpool. The power surge he felt from the whirlpool was unbeleivable.
He turned to her and looked her in the eye, putting on a serious face. “I’m sorry for the water ball, it was uncalled-for and I apologize. If you would forgive me I can help you train. This kind of control comes from eighteen years of living on the ocean. and i can at least pay you back by teaching you some of that control.”

Sarah didn't look at him, when he spoke about a sister. It only hurt her to hear that word. To think about her twin, and her family back home. She didn't say anything but thought to herself. If Lilly had been here she would have dried off Sarah before Sarah could get the water off of her. They'd both probably be laughing as well. "Well I'm not your sister. I don't like having things thrown at me....thanks for drying me off tho." she said. She didn't say anything about oh he was someone with powers over water like her. She didn't want to discuss it and the lack of control she had.
Sarah was still patting herself down. Making sure she was all dry, well her hair was still wet. She had to admit this was the most wet she'd ever gotten while training. She looked up when she saw the whirlpool. Her eyes went big as she watched it grow, somewhere inside of her mind. She could hear Dyson yelling at her, as she thought about the last whirlpool she'd created. Her arms found themselves wrapped around herself as she thought about Dymex and Celestial wishing they where there. When he turned to her, she found his eyes and stopped thinking about her family. There was something about him, that was telling her to run away right then. "You should be more careful about making whirlpools, someone could have been in the water" she told him. The thought chilled her to the bone.
It chilled her enough that the water around her grew intensely cold all of a sudden. What little water did hit her now seemed to turn to frost. "I...I don't need a teacher. I'm fine practicing by myself.
" she said looking at the water and not him. She couldn't face him, inside she knew she probably knew she did need help. But she didn't want any. She wanted her old control back, there was something though something that was stopping her and it drove her mad. She missed having control over water, " It used to be so easy." she whispered under her breath.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

“And it can be easy again if you let me help you. I can see you trying to move the water with powers you have apparently lost total control over. Most of the water people here don’t understand and don’t see what I can do. I’ve lived and breathed water for eighteen years and the only reason I haven’t lost all control of my power is because I constantly am manipulating water on some level.” He had worked up such frenzy in his speech that he didn’t realize his powers had kicked in, lifting the now raging whirlpool out of the lake bed and leaving it floating in mid air. He calmed himself down slowly, closing his eyes and thinking of his only home town. As he calmed himself down, the whirlpool slowly emptied into the lake. Cal hooked his finger under her chin and looked her in the eyes, “What happened? When you lost your powers? Your control?”

She looked at him, always manipulating water. She found her powers draining now when she could get a little bit of her old control back. She couldn't image always using them, though she supposed they would get easier to use. Still she bit her lip, she thought about it. She'd told him she didn't need help, but standing here, she could feel the pull from the current of the whirlpool he'd made. She wished she could do that still. Once upon time she might have been able to. Now she was lucky if she could push and pull the water. She was about to leave when he touched her. She looked at him her eyes, wide. She bit her lip as he asked her what happened. She wanted to tell him it was none of his business but she thought not to. She still swallowed, "Ah.." she opened her mouth, but the words didn't want to come out. She took a breath, and looked at him. Her heart was pounding, she felt a little bit dizzy she backed up and pushed away his hand. "Please...dont touch me." she said. The water around them had grown cold and now there was what seemed to be ice on her hands where she'd shoved him away.
"I cant control it anymore." she said she looked down at her hands. Part of her thought about crying. "I don't know why I can't control it. I'm afraid of it now." she said. She started to tell him what happened, with her eyes closed she could see the whole day in her mind. "We were at the beach and we were playing around in the water. I was pushing water at them, and fighting there water it was a good time. I...I made a whirlpool." she said. She looked down as she felt the water hit her face, she knew she was crying she didn't look at him. "I lost control...I almost killed them both. The twins, I nearly killed my little brother and sister....because I couldn't control it." she said her voice was shaking. Her hands where shaking she touched the water, "I can't do this anymore, next time...I could kill them, but now I can't control it!" she said the last part had hints of frustration in her voice.

Something in him wanted him to move to her, to help her. He took one step toward her and stopped himself, knowing that if he even tried to force her now she would never be willing to hear him. He know her pain, knew what it was like to feel out of control. She was shutting down in front of him and something in him wanted to just shake her awake. But he couldn’t do anything.
“Hey! Hey! I know you lost control. I know what it feels like to almost kill someone you love. I know what it’s like to be afraid of your powers, to not know if the next drops of water you move will kill someone else. But that doesn’t have to be the case; it never has to be the case,” he brought his voice down, and stepped toward her. Feeling the cold emanating from her body and the water around her he wrapped, his arms around her holding at a distance than pulling her in, “I know what it’s like to fear the power you were born and blessed with. I know how it feels to have your abilities be a burden and a curse.”
Then he remembered his swim at the bottom and how much it had helped him. He stepped back from her and waded out to past her until he was hip deep in the water. He turned to her and held out his hand, “Come with me, I want to show you something.”

Sarah felt slow. She felt broken, her powers. They had made her what she was, told her who she was. They had made her as special as her twin, made her and Lilly the perfect opposites. Without them, without control she was lost. She didn't know who she was any more and it killed her.
She looked at him, how could he know? She could have killed them all. She thought, she could never hurt them again. "How?" she asked him. How could that not be the case. "How do you say when you control it like that. You don't get it. I'm afraid." she said. Finally she was admitting to herself she was afraid of her powers, she'd never really admitted that to herself. Then she was in her arms, she she did something she hadn't done yet. She cried she really cried,,she didn't grab him even though she wanted it. "I'm afraid. I don't want to hurt them." she said. It was with this stranger that she was finding peace. He sounded like he really did understand. When he held out his hand.
She wanted to say no. She still didn't want to be around water, but she did. She took his hand, and squeezed it even. She was going to do this. "Thank you.." she told him. She looked down and followed him. She watched as the cold around her started to fade away her ice was melting she sighed. "I'll go." she said she would go with him. She still had some streaks on her face from crying, but most of her tears had joined the lake she smiled as she thought of a song. This is the story of a girl, who cried a river. She wiped away her tears. "I'm Sarah." she told him finally saying her name to the stranger.

He smiled at her, deeply happy that she was willing to go with him, “Caligan. But you can call me Cal,” He stretched his free hand towards the water, freezing a path out into the middle of the lake, securing it to the bottom with its own pillar. He walked out onto the path, beckoning her to come with him. He needed she needed to feel connected to the water, but she needed to feel like she was in complete control. He racked his brain to see what he could put together to help her reach that essential step. He waited for her to move closer to him then sat down and crossed his legs Indian style, pulling him down with her to sit next to him. “First we sit and meditate. The only way you will get over your fear of your powers is if you forget the fear of yourself. Sarah there is only one thing that will ever help you regain control of your powers is to regain control of your mind and for me, and the rest of the water people I know, meditation in or near the water is the best way to forget and control.”

She smiled at his name. "Okay Cal" she said. Caligan it was an interesting name she had to admit. She liked it. He made the walk way of ice and she took in a breath. She was cold but that was good some of her own ice came. "Impressive" she admitted. She followed him and sat down. She laughed a little bit nervously at first. "It's cold" she said trying to lighten up. Trying to not think about the fact she was in the middle of a lake.
She looked at him, "forget my fear." she repeated his words. She thought about it, she bit her lip. She looked at the water. It used to be so peaceful to her. Now it was something that had a hidden strength. All water had riptides. She thought about it, rip tides the current under the water while the waves where pushed another way. She sighed and thought about it. Closing her eyes, she thought about the water. "What if I can't forget it" she said. Even as she said it.
Her eyes where closed and she was imagining being taken away from the water. She felt a wave move the ice, and she tensed. She was going to fall off. She was going to drown she thought. She opened her eyes there was another wave in the water. It came over and she tried to stop it. It didn't stop and she fell off the ice. Falling into the cold water. She realized she'd been wanting to jump in. Some how though she had ended up under the ice. She couldn't get it to move. Would she drown?" she wondered. She opened her mouth even though she was in water. "Cal!" she yelled under the water.

He sensed more than felt her fall in the water, and he felt more than heard her call his name. He heard more than controlled his powers activating to his emotions as the Ice beneath him cracked and shattered, melting instantly. He dove into the water after her, sinking to the bottom to get a better look at her, the riptide had swept her under the ice and away from him and he needed to find her. He Turned, sensing her movement underwater and swam to her.
