HISTORY:
On the twenty-third of April, at three o'clock in the morning at St.Joseph's Orphanage the doorbell rang through out the building. When answered by a disgruntled House Keeper, nothing was found but a baby in a basket. No note, nothing. They named the little girl Joseph, after the orphanage, and though some claimed it to be a boys name, and said it would be better Josephine, no matter what it would be shorted to Jo. But she eventually just started to be called J. And her age unknown, though it was obvious she was just born, they gave her birthday to be the day she arrived.
So, J began to grow up in the orphanage, her parents unknown to her. Never was she adopted, and she stayed there. At the age of five she began to get these weird dreams, they were always mixed together, and they started happening when she was awake, then one day when she was eleven one was brighter to the other and scared her. It happened when she touched a friend of hers, about an older brother that he didn't know about (as he'd been in the orphanage since he was a baby too) arriving and saying he'd been looking for him for years since they'd been split up, and being old enough to look after him, and taking him. All she told was her best friend. Then, six months later, having almost forgotten about it, it happened. Her friend was frightened and accidentally blurted it out. Finally, Joseph left for her own.
J didn't know what was happening to her, and it scared her. The visions came more. They came at night more often, but they started coming in the day more often too. When they did come in the day though, it usually meant they were clearer and more pronounced, and she was either close to who they were going to happen too, or they were going to happen soon. She tried to hide it, but it scared her. Plus, she lived on the streets. That's always a challenge. Trying to survive on her own, to get food and a place to stay the night, the first couple of months were hard for J, but soon she got into the habit and knew how to survive and was one of the toughest girls out there.
It wasn't until Joseph was 14 that she ever found anything about what her powers were. She may have tried to hid them, but people still noticed something strange about her, and were even quite scared of her though they didn't know the reason, and it was her powers frightening people away that kept her alive on the streets, though she liked to believe differently. Also, the rumors floating around, about a girl who knew what was going to happen in the future and if you'd pay her a few bucks would tell you that brought them too her. J hated it when people came to her and asked her to tell them their future. There were two reasons, she hated what she could do and that people knew (she had to pull that man away when the piano almost dropped on him and nobody would leave her alone since, the money thing just came in because she was a street kid), and two that she could only accept the money if she did see something with them, because she didn't always.
Joseph had just finished convinced a person to go away because she couldn't see the future though they claimed they would be back when two people came up to her. They said they heard she could see the future. Seeing they had no money, J wasn't even going to touch them to see if she saw anything. All she did was say that she couldn't and walk away. Then they asked her her name. She looked back surprised. "J," She said out of habit, "What's your full name," The one asked. "Joseph." They looked at her confused. J looked away and said, "I came from on orphanage, been there since I was born, my parents never seen. No name on me, they just named me after it." The other two looked at each other. Then the one grabbed J's hand and she got a vision where she was in a classroom in he was teaching her.
So they took her to the school, which they told her more about, and more about the powers she possessed after she described what she could do. After hearing that she only had one name, and it being a boys name, they asked how she would like another name, a girls name, and make Joseph her last name. Then she could still use the name J if she wanted. J said how she always liked the name A.J. so an A name it was, so they decided Ashling, which meant vision.
Now she goes by either Ash or A.J., rarely ever being called J any more, and lives at the school, all year round, having no home to go through. She's still trying to understand her visions, she even thinks she's starting to communicate telepathically with a single person while she sleeps - unless she keeps on having different visions about the same person, she doesn't know. She doesn't even know who the person is, actually. So, in her Junior year and her third year at Foxglove High, Ash still barely has full understanding of her power.

NAME: Ley
EXPERIENCE: Two and half years
RP EXAMPLE:
Oakwood, Indiana was a dry, hot place, especially in the summer. There was really nothing there, it was the same every where. They said there was a whole different world out there. Danny had seen it too - on TV of course. But you could also see a bit of that other part in Oakwood itself - you just had to go looking. And Danny, well, Danny was one to explore. He knew all of Oakwood, he'd gone to the very ends of it. He'd found a whole other world in Oakwood itself - something he hadn't believed possible. But he realized such things were possible, all you had to do was look.
Danny reached Caldwell field as the day started to reach it end. It was still called Caldwell field even though the Caldwell's had abandoned it long ago - before Danny was even born. But it would always be known as their field, the overgrown mess. The land was the biggest then any other in Oakwood, Danny believed, and somewhere you could still find the house, though you wouldn't want to go in it, a danger it was. But the field laid on the outskirts of town, and it was on the other end of the field Danny was headed.
Danny set out, weaving his way through the thicket, and picking his feet. He knew the way well, having gone there often. Danny had found this place long ago, and never told anybody else about it. Whether any knew, that he did not know, but he had never met anybody on the specific place in the field, though he had met others in the field (and pulled a couple out of the house - even he wasn't stupid enough to do that).
Finally Danny passed by a little mess of trees and reached a small cave of sorts that went into a hill. He entered, having to crouch down. He'd grown much taller since he'd first found the place, and was glad he wasn't any taller or he'd have to crawl. He then reached a place where a hole in the ceiling was, and long ago he'd set a rope ladder. Yes, often he went there. Up he climbed, until he reached the top.
Suddenly, there Danny stood on the top of a large hill that looked over - not only Caldwell field - but a great deal of Oakwood, and, off into the other distance, hills and mountains, and at that moment, the starting of a setting sun. A small smile started to set upon Danny's lips as he sat down, leaning back on his elbows, and watched the sun set.
Yes, it was a whole different world up there, there was no doubt about that. The wind blew against Danny's face, blowing his hair back, and he closed his eyes, feeling the warmth. He'd always wanted to get out of Oakwood, but it was this place that first made him want to explore the world, see what - not just the community - but nature, had to offer. Danny loved it up there, and as he watched the sun set, he thought there was no better scene than that there.
